What Is Brain Fog?
Brain fog refers to a state of mental cloudiness—difficulty focusing, forgetfulness, and slowed thinking. While common, brain fog isn’t a normal part of aging and shouldn’t be ignored. Untreated brain fog may impact daily functioning and can be associated with underlying hormonal, neurological, or metabolic conditions.
At a cellular level, brain fog is often linked to inflammation, hormone imbalances, sleep disturbances, or chronic stress. Left unmanaged, it can contribute to mood changes, decreased productivity, and worsening cognitive health.
